Jewellery Care

Read on to find out how to care for your gorgeous piece of jewellery plus learn some Pro-Tips!

Sterling Silver 925 (S925)

Sterling Silver 925 or S925 consists of 92.5% of silver and 7.5% of other metals as 100% pure Silver is too soft to be made into jewellery. Silver tarnishes quickly when it comes into contact with the moisture and oxygen in the air. The easiest way to prevent this is to wear your S925 jewels everyday - but why? This is because the oils and natural chemicals on our skin prevents the tarnishing of your S925 jewels. So the next time you're not wearing them remember to store them in an airtight container / plastic to prevent and minimise tarnishing.

Pro-tip: To clean tarnished S925 jewellery - polish with a silver polishing cloth or take a red bean size amount of toothpaste and use a soft toothbrush / gently rub it using your fingers over your S925 jewellery and rinse it with tap water. Repeat until it is shiny again!

Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel does not rust however the plating may tarnish and rub off. Our Stainless Steel Jewellery usually comes with Rose Gold and Gold plating which may tarnish with wear and tear. To prevent this, keep away from lotions, creams and perfumes.

Triple Plated Alloy

Some of our jewellery are made from triple plated alloy which are much sturdier than regular alloy jewellery and suitable to be worn everyday. However do remove before shower/sleep, keep away from lotions, soap, creams and perfumes for maximum wear time.

Alloy

Most fashion and costume jewellery are made of alloy which is essentially a mixture of metals. They are not tarnish and rust free so do keep it clean and dry, away from lotions, creams, perfumes, soap and sweat for maximum wear time.

Pro-tip: Add a thin layer of Clear Nail Polish every 3-4 weeks on your alloy jewellery to prevent it from tarnishing!

Other Jewellery Materials

Suede, genuine/faux leather, feathers, zirconia and gem stones are commonly used in our jewellery and would not require any special care. Just keep them clean and dry and they would be happy to be worn by you.

Ever had the issue of wearing a gorgeous stone laced piece and one of the stones fell out?
So how to prevent your gemstones from falling out? (Works for other pieces of fashion jewellery too)

Pro-tip: Add a thin layer of Clear Nail Polish every 3-4 weeks on the edges of the stones to secure it!

Do note that all our jewellery are put together by hand thus resulting in slight differences in colours and finishing. Exact materials will be stated in the descriptions of the associated products.
